Actual investment return and principal value of mutual funds will fluctuate so that an investor’s shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost. A plan of regular investing does not assure a profit or protect against loss in a declining market. You should consider your financial ability to continue your purchase throughout periods of fluctuating price levels. Please obtain a prospectus for complete information including charges and expenses. Read it carefully before you invest or send money. I started in the financial field in 1986 with A. G. Edwards and Sons in Albuquerque, NM. After a little over a year, I moved back to my home State of Arkansas into the Little Rock branch in 1987.
After realizing I wanted to do more comprehensive financial planning, I became an independent financial advisor in 1994. After running my own office for 4 years, I was hired to be the President of and open a new investment division for BKD, a CPA firm in Springfield, MO in 1998.
After I opened their advisory firm, I went back to being an independent advisor in 1999 and moved to Destin, FL.
After living in Destin for over 19 years, my wife Penny - whom I will have been married to for 25 years in April of 2020 - and I decided to move back to our home State of Arkansas and we moved to Jonesboro to be close to all of her family. I will continue my financial business there.
I hold the FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 registrations. I hold a resident insurance license in Arkansas (AR Lic #1664874) and non-resident insurance license in 10 other States. I earned my CFP® professional designation in 1998.
I was raised in Hot Springs, AR and attended the University of Arkansas.
I am an avid golfer and have written a golf instruction book -“How to plug the power leaks of your golf swing.”
Books and learning are my passions and I am an avid collector of antique books - copyrighted before 1925 - and enjoy the areas of history, geopolitical economics and biographies.
In the past I have been an avid traveler and have even been to Tasmania, Australia. Since we have moved, Penny and I plan on doing a great deal more travelling.
Church is a very important aspect of my life and I have been active in my church. I am a past Pastoral Council president and church treasurer, past VP of the St. Vincent DePaul society and have served in several other capacities.
As an independent financial professional, I offer you a very wide array of investment and financial options and strategies. One of the reasons I went independent is to be able to provide items and products in ALL areas of the financial world. I didn't just want to sell stocks or bonds or just insurance. I wanted to be able to show my clients the investments or strategies that best meet their needs and goals.
There are a few things I don't do...I don't sell individual stocks or bonds and I am not a "trader" of investments.
The products I recommend are designed to be held or owned for the long-term and may have options for future income.
I also offer a "fee only" Investment account, if that better suits your needs.
As a CFP(R) professional, I have been trained to analyze your current financial situation and understand your future goals BEFORE I make any recommendations.
Experience sometimes is not an advantage but since I have been a financial professional for over 30 years, I can at least use that experience to help you stay away from what I consider "unsuitable strategies and investments".
Whether you like to make quick decisions or if you want to do a great deal of study before you make a decision, I can help.
Whether you are well versed in investment or don't know a thing, I can help.
Give me a call and we can discuss what you want to accomplish and let me see if I can help and maybe even show you some ideas that you didn't know were available.
